BUTTERFLIES – JUNE 20, 2019 – 9:00AM – 12:00PM (snack is included)
There are few things in nature that can capture the excitement of a child more than a butterfly just flying by. In this class we will focus on this beautiful pollinator. We will study the anatomy and life cycle of a butterfly, go on a nature walk in search of butterflies while learning the difference between a butterfly and a moth, then take part in hands on learning as we each build our own butterfly habit and learn how to raise them from caterpillars. Each wild child will take home the habitat they create as well as caterpillars to raise in it. At home, your wild child will be able to watch the caterpillars transform into butterflies and release them into the wild over the course of the next few weeks. This class would be a wonderful extension to our pollinator class that is being held in May, but can also stand alone and will be a great opportunity for your wild child to learn more about one of our earth’s most beautiful creatures. Your wild child will leave inspired to learn more on his own and excited to spend the next few weeks looking forward to an amazing transformation.
This class is FULL!! This class is limited to 20 participants and is $20 per participating wild child.
