James Bond’s favorite egg is a French Marans egg, and I can’t say that I blame him. Our rooster, Johnny Cash, is a French Black Copper Marans, and we have black copper, blue copper, and splash marans hens in our flock. The neat thing about the genetics of a Marans chicken is that you have the chance of getting any of the three when you hatch our beautiful chocolate eggs.
Our Marans are from the Mari Krebs line and were originally purchased from Field of Blessings Farm in Abita Springs, LA. We breed for temperament and only hatch the darkest Marans eggs that we collect. This helps us improve our stock and keeps our Marans and their eggs are just beautiful.
