Look who joined me for chard picking!! Melts my momma heart. Still to this day when my family finds me in the garden, they come. It is magic. Truly. December has a way of either slowing us down or speeding us up, depending on how we let it. But, the December garden is a much needed slow down. It is easy to maintain, it overproduces, and it brings so much beauty to the otherwise drab landscape. Edible container gardens are such a fun way to garden without a garden. If you have a pot or window box, quality potting soil containing a slow release organic fertilizer, and some lettuce, leafy greens, cool season herbs, and frost hardy flowers, you can have yourself a garden that gives until spring anywhere you’d like! Any time I feel out of sorts, 15 minutes here in this garden will turn everything around. Nature has a way. The table is set, and tonight we light the candle of HOPE. In lighting this candle, we are reminded that we have HOPE in a hopeless world. He is coming for us. We anxiously wait. 🎉🎉 CONGRATULATIONS @backyard.babe!! What a fabulous day….and not one family picture taken. 🤦🏻‍♀️ But here is what did happen. I somehow made @thepioneerwoman dinner rolls, which basically makes me feel like I own Thanksgiving. Kids played and came in for hot chocolate and ran wild chasing chickens. And we fished and babies slept while some of us piled on the couch for conversation about nothing and everything all at the same time. Generations of us, cousins, neighbors, friends, all like family. Surprise drop ins that make me want to cry, friends I didn’t even know last year celebrating with us, co-workers, and mostly just a lot of love. TABLE DECORATING IN 3 EASY STEPS!
